I like Gallipoli but none of my friends did. Gotta go in realizing that it isn't going to be your typical war movie.


I think that goes without saying for pretty much every book to film adaptation.

Except Tom Clancey novels! Actually the only one I read AND saw was "Hunt for Red October" I thought the movie blew the book out of the water.

Last scene of Gallipoli was heartbreaking. AQotWF is surprisingly good, though you have to forgive the inconsistent framerates that make some scenes really distracting.

Not a traditional "war" film but good none the less, "A very long engagement". French language with subtitles, rather good.
