It's cool to have been invited back and see familiar names still in the community. A few of us have been absent from the community for a long while, but are now welcomed back.

I was thinking we could use a thread to detail what we've been up to till now...

As for myself:

-I was able to obtain a job at a hotel through craigslist under the "barter" section. It turned out the management was looking for a person to live within the hotel, rent free, in exchange for front desk help w/ hourly compensation. I thought this would bring me to baller status. Then I got kicked out after ownership changed, but I kept my job. However, I was able to live within the hotel once again after excessive butt kissing:

Here's my room:

No, I didn't decorate it.

-I bought my first car. A used mini cooper. And my dad had the top of it painted for a Christmas present last year.

-I go to school full time. I'm an accounting major. I have 2 years left, but I'm actually only 3 classes away from a Business Admin minor degree.

-I ride a bike--I keep it with me and use it as sort of a probing vehicle that's launched from my car.
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/2338/dsc02262ee4.th.jpg (http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc02262ee4.jpg)

-If I'm online, I'm usually at work.
-I still play red orchestra every once in awhile, but I've largely lost interest in online gaming
-I now have baked beans w/ toast nearly every day because of influences from the old board
-Some of you might remember I had a number of guns. Unfortunately I lost interest in collecting/shooting, well, I lost the time for it. But I still have the collection.

so, what've you been up to?

I moved to Boston and get progressively more awesome each day.

Also, I'm pretty jealous of your living set up.

Why did you move to Boston?

Just because really. Wanted to move out of California and I enjoy the east coast. Like the city itself, cheaper and less hectic than New York, but still really neat. No real concrete reason; just the way I like it.

I got a job as a towtruck/light service driver and mechanic. I work alot but I enjoy my job. Still going to school, only 1 class before i get my AA. Still livin at home where the rents free (cant beat that) and still in jersey. I dont play any video games anymore, lost interest. Bought my dream truck and have had headaches with the brake system (long story), I like to backpack and go offroad alot. I bought a used fast race quad and play with that alot. I was on the TV show pinks with a few friends of mine where we raced a built up chevy nova, it didnt make it to the tv show itself though b/c they didnt select our class.

Bout it..

A cousin here and a friend going to grad school at Brandeis. But that's about it. Been here a week and loving it. Had a sort of date with a girl on Beacon Hill last night. Brought some wine over to her place and ya, good stuff. So far it seems this was a really good choice.

And if you'd like to do something like that, then you should. You only get to live once and the experience alone will be worth it. I just packed everything essential into my little car and drove across country. Just secured a place last night and got some good leads on jobs. Just be fearless :D

I changed jobs from Assistant Manager of a GameStop to working at computer software company doing QA on their products. It's pretty cool, I get a chance to work and learn at the same time. I'm trying to learn C# and the .NET platform. If I can accomplish that with some success then I'll be able to do just about anything there. The company is great and really prefers promoting from within. Good riddance to GameStop... (No offense to anyone who works there, I just hated the place.)

I still live at home, and it's very lame. I don't pay rent so that saves me a bundle and my basement now looks like BestBuy. If anyone knows anything about me I'm still with my girlfriend Beth, and we've been dating for 3 and a half years now.

I still play an insane amount of video games, but not nearly as much as before. You'll find me for the most part on Halo 3 on XBOX Live. Most the people I work with play every Tuesday night and I join in with them. We also play Forza 2 on occasion (mostly Thursdays). I own a PS3 and never play it. I have a DS and never play it.

I also just bought a nice new PC rig. However, give it 3 months and it'll be a piece of junk. I have (but don't play that much) CoD4, Orange Box, Crysis, World in Conflict, and C&C 3.

Specs -
WD Raptor HDD 150GB @ 10,000 RPM (Contains OS and games)
Sea Gate HDD 500GB @ 7,000 RPM (Contains media files and back up work projects)
Intel Q6600 Quad Core @ 2.4GHz
4 GB of Crucial Ballistix PC 8500
Nvida 8600GT
Antec 850 Watt power supply
then a bunch of other random cool stuff

I'm working full time nights at a tech company....in the summer I'd been working in the same lab, for a different department, but because of financial bullshit one of the divisions was sold off and reincorporated as its own company. I now work for them.

It's kind of nice actually, it's a private rather than public corporation so making a profit is good enough (without having shareholders dictate that x profit percentage needs to be made. They're also re-embracing a lot of the old policies that Gennum (the original company) USED to do ages ago but abandoned in favour of a business business business approach. Now at SDT they actually reward good work, so that's a nice change of pace.

Other than that...squat. The GF hunt got put on hold on Dec 1, and is now off hiatus as of February 15 lol.

Welcome to the East Coast das-w00t. Boston is a nice city to live in, has a lot of nice little corner stuff that makes it fun to walk around. Providence is too podunk for my tastes and the weather here kinda sucks, but New England has a charm that I've taken a liking to.

Whats up with Whap since you all last knew me for any real length of time:
-I am now 21 (nearly 22). When I was banned I was 17
-I am a professional photographer
-I don't make much money
-I'm not much for formal education
-I split my time between Orlando, FL; Washington, DC; and Portland, ME
-I drive an RX8 and I have to spend nearly all the money I make on upkeep for that car.
-I am never going to give you up, never going to let you down, never going to run around and desert you.
-I still spend way too much time on far to many forums.
-I still play DoD:S on a regular basis.

Corr... this is going to be a long story.

- I resigned from the DoD Moderator team in 2006 while I was still at university.
- I completed my degree in June 2006 - a BSc Econ in International Politics and Military History. I wrote my dissertation on Airborne Forces Warfare.
- I then went on a holiday. DragonCon, geeky convention where I got to chill with a bunch of doods dressed as Colonial Marines from Aliens. Sweet~
- I then had to work. I worked as a temp in security, as a stopgap, but ended up there for 9 months. I had a nervous breakdown and it made me very unhealthy.
- I then worked as a temp as a secretary. Couldn't afford to live.
- AND I NEVER WORKED AS A TEMP AGAIN.
- Another DragonCon. Whoo.
- I then had a job interview with a special effects company, who I am now still working for! :D !

Other tidbits:

- I'm still writing my books.
- I lost heart in WW2 re-enactment in the end. The guys just didn't keep it fun... I don't want to spend my time and energy looking after *everyone else's stuff*.
- I now collect film props as well as militaria. The prides of my collection are the live-fire rifle and costume used in the FPS sequence in Doom, my Mobile Infantry gear from Starship Troopers and Captain Pinbacker's uniform from Sunshine.
- I have yet to redo PetePorn for my post-21 years. Tempted to, though.

- I'm turning 22 next week. I was 17 when DOD retail was released!
- I left Germany in 2004 and moved to Montreal Canada
- Worked there for 3 years (texture artist on Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Conviction, plus that penguin surfing movie game Surf's Up *cough*)
- In June 2007 I moved to Barcelona Spain to work for a different company.
- Feeling homesick so I'm going to go back to Canada in a few months.
Hopefully become a permanent resident in a couple years...

That's about the jist of it. I hate moving.

- I'm 19 now and 20 in August.
- I've pretty much lost all interest in web design/graphic art. But I still enjoy doing it here and there.
- I am about a year away from my Associates Degree in Computer Engineering (Would be sooner but I changed majors in the middle of the year)
- After my AS, I am going to transfer to a bigger University and finish there and receive my Bachelors in Information Systems Technology.
- Currently unemployed.
- I spend most of my good day shitting and playing World of Warcraft.
- I've also recently purchased a Wii and have killed my competition.
- I plan on enlisting into their Air Force after my Bachelors degree. I haven't yet decided if I was going to ROTC thing there.
- After getting out of the Air Force, I plan on leaving Florida and moving back up to the Northeast where I can actually walk to a grocery store rather than drive 10 miles.

Homesick...for Canada? Man, I'm sick of this place, I want to leave :P Nah, I know Montreal's a nice city even though I only spent a week there.

So what happens with your career if you're leaving Barcelona to come back here? Do you have a job lined up?

I graduated college in December of '06 with a bachelors in writing/editing/journalism (umbrella major with concentrations). I've been working at SAIC (DoD (Department of Defense) vendor) for over three years now. I was promoted to buyer last year and that's where I am now. I've been looking elsewhere recently but have no desire to leave immediately.

I've been up to the same ol' shit. I still play DoD and DoD: Source--I guess that puts me in the minority. I've been playing a bunch of TF2 since that came out a few months back. I dunno, that's about it for gaming outside of some Wii when friends are around. Wii Bowling doesn't seem to ever get old.

I'm involved in Jersey Jugglers, I still collect cards like crazy, I have Nets season tickets and umm, that's about all really. I've been looking at places recently--I'm hoping to move out by the end of the summer.

And--I'm going to Spain in 3+ weeks. That'll be fun.

God where do I start. I think when I last posted here was in like 2002-2003, I've since then gone to college, dropped out of college. Spent two years living at home, building enough community college credits to go back while working at a hardware store. And now I'm 24 and about to finally graduate with a BS in English, hoping to work in technical writing for defense contractors.

I've picked up a lot of new hobbies along the way, including:

-Become increasingly active on SA, hosting many goonmeets
-Photography
-Guitar (gotten more serious about this, in an on/off band)
-Warhammer 40k (painting minis is a great catharsis)
-Motorcycling

I'm still in Dallas, having my usual array of great and kinky sex, working as a graphic designer/IT guy. Got a new car, got a new apartment, thinking about buying a house. I'm a photographer, too. Done a few magazine/modelling/portrait shoots. Mostly do it for my own fun, for artsy stuff. Was actually thinking about starting up my own Bunker/TMH forum, only I was gonna do it more wiki-style, so we could make new forums as we needed (like a modelling, skins, animations forum, or a tits only forum or whatever).

I don't know much of the "old guard" here, but I've been playing DoD since 2001, the good ol' 1.3b days. On the grey and black board, I mainly populated the MSA forum and downloaded and lauded the works of Capt. Glimsharp and the rest of the talented guys there. When the dod boards got updated to the green style, I was still in MSA but loosing interest really fast because most of the guys that made great stuff disappeared. Luckily, I got an invite to the Bunkers by Ska_Wars, and then I became a bunkerite and found out how wonderful the dod boards could be. I missed the HS and Bishop drama, but CJM and Faceman were still there in the bunker. About a year later, the bunkers closed, and TMH was born and I stayed there somemore. And now I'm here :D

IRL, I'm a sophomore at the University of San Francisco in SF. I used to be a Nursing major, but that didn't work out and I switched this semester to History. Crisp, good luck man that shit is hard. Also sorta school related, I'm in ROTC (Army), and it's been good times. Richy you'll meet some interesting people and learn cool stuff (at least I did so far), as well as "fun stuff" like PCI checks :/. And good to see you again Lieb, and nice to see you got E-5. Last time I heard from you, I think you were still a LCpl and hating the Marines. How is it now?

Nursing is a bitch, but it's a great career. My brother graduated last year from the USF Nursing program, now he's working at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital. He's got a lot of good stories from his job.

Anyways, in case anyone was wondering, I'm still studying English at Brown University in Providence, RI. I do a lot of extracurricular stuff, co-chairing the Filipino Alliance cultural group, playing guitar at church, doing an afterschool creative writing program for underpriviledged school kids, and working as a lighting director/manager for various dance groups on campus. Meanwhile, I'm in an internship running from home for a startup company, doing some marketing stuff. Planning on applying for an internship at cnet, and if not I'll stick with what I've got going right now. Otherwise, still playing guitar (trying to come up with some new songs and improve on my jazz/blues chops, which suck), still trying to draw (hopefully I'll have time to restart the suggestion thread), still don't know what I'm going to be doing after school. No girlfriend as such, but over the last few months I've become increasingly social, which is nice.

Also, I'm trying to grow a beard. Mixed results...

I haven't really posted much in the RN community since 2002 or 2003, I don't really remember. I guess I'll start from the beginning

- I tried making a mod and failed
- I graduated college after three years of mind-numbing stress taking traditional animation, got hired out during my third year
- I've been animating tv shows for a year and a half now
- I don't play video games anywhere near as much as I used to (thank god)
- I still spend too much time on the internet, mostly on something awful
- I draw a lot
- I've taken up playing guitar
- probably a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting

It's crazy that I've been around since the days of 12 of us idling in #dod in IRC all day to this. I think that was sometime in early 2000 or so. I was 20 or 21 when the leaked alpha came out, I am almost 29 now.

Well, I haven't posted on the DoD forums for a long time now. Probably haven't played it for 1.5-2 years.

Lets see, since the last time the Bunkers was active or anything I:
- Graduated from the U of MN with bachelors degrees in Geological Engineering, Geology, and Geophysics
- Work as a civil engineer for a testing company after getting let go from my first one because someone didn't like me and found some of my clone pictures I had online from a tread in SA where I used my rifles
- Spent a helluva lot more time over at SomethingAwful since 2002, but I stopped posting there on a regular basis a while ago
- Found out my SA account was one of those suspended due to hijacking. :x Hopefully I'll get it back soon.
- Bought 6 rifles
- Bought a house
- Getting married on Feb 29th - leap day

That's pretty much it with me. All I do now is work, come home, sleep and repeat.
