Post your top five beers you fucking alcoholics.
(in no order)
1. Framboise Lambic: Robitussin with Codeine has more alcohol but this certainly is mighty tasty!
2. Stella Artois: Great aroma and very rich.
3. Pilsner Urquell: Very crisp, very smooth.
4. Bass Ale: Good kick.
5. Flying Dog's In Heat Wheat: one of the better microbrews I've sampled.
Burris
Feb 18th, 2008, 05:33 AM
1) Sam Adams Cherry Wheat
2) Warsteiner
3) Guinness/Harp
4) Rolling Rock
5) Blue Moon
Honorable Mention: Amstel Light, Smithwicks

Following the same style... order is not significant
1) Best Drinking Game Beer: Bud light. Simple. not too filling. Not overly watered.
2) Best Cheap Lager: Carling (with a dash of sweet lime)
3) Best Summer Beer: Corona Extra w/ lime wedge
4) Best Single Pint to Enjoy: Guinness
5) Favorite Overall: Newcastle
(Magners, Bulmers, Strongbow all make for a good thirst quencher)

I like hard liquor..
Jim Beam (where is yellow whatever his name was? He lived on that stuff)
Jack
Jager
Soco (my favorite period)
Any kinda decent vodka
Tequila
etc
Beer:
Heineken
Coors
Bass
Samuel Adams
I much prefer hard stuff though, but I dont like to drink to much or I become an obnoxious ass who starts fights. I aint allowed at more than a few local watering holes..

1. Miller Light
2. Bud Light
3. Corona
4. Landshark Lager
5. Coors
Why didn't you just throw some PBR or Natty Ice on this list?

Feb 18th, 2008, 05:37 AM
Bombay Sapphire, Belvedere, and Jameson are the best liquor.

I was going to suggest water, or water-diluted rat piss, but I think you've already covered that.

I like Rolling Rock, Optimator and Blue Moon, and when I'm far gone. Red Dog, the manly trucker beer, suffices.
Natty ice is terrible.
Funny this thread is here as I'm recovering from when I locked horns with Tequila last night.

I haven't tried enough beer to really know, but from what I have tried (in no particular order):
1. Newcastle
2. Red Stripe
3. Corona
4. St. Paulie Girl
5. Heineken
As a poor college student though, I've become used to the taste of the lesser beers. Bud Light and PBR are fine, though Miller and Natty take 1-2 to get used to. There are some bad beers floating around campus though, I don't know where the frats find them.

1. Guiness (thick and delicious, I don't drink it too often, but when I want one, I need one)
2. Hobgoblin (this stuff is like the chocolate milk of beer, tastes awesome when smoking hookah)
3. Warsteiner (good sipping beer, great after taste)
4. Alexander Keith (just a good all-round tasty cheaper beer)
5. Hoegaarden (I'll take this over Corona any day when I just feel like a light beer)
Stellar

hoegaarden is a great belgian ale. I prefer that over Leffe
The Good King Bad
Feb 19th, 2008, 06:39 AM
1. Miller Light
2. Bud Light
3. Corona
4. Landshark Lager
5. Coors
I'm guessing you like to garnish your beer with a dirt and urine covered ping pong ball?
1. YuengLing
2. Cheap whiskey (It goes well with beer)
3. Budweiser
4. Whiskey (It goes well with beer, and also nothing.)
5. Guiness
This covers me in any situation, even church.

1) Newcastle Brown Ale (god damn I love that stuff)
2) Fosters (lol)
3) Kronenbourg
4) London Pride
5) -
I had a bottle of Sam Adams in some US wannabe diner and I must say I liked it a lot. Would love to get my hands on a case of it or something.
Also drinking 'light' beer is an utter waste of time. Might as well go and drink some watered down piss...

I've gone off lagers - I drink Guinness because its served everywhere, I like to try local beers and ales.
this week I have Old Jock Ale, 1488 (whisky ale of all things) and Northern Light just to try. and I added Caol Ila to my whisky shelf.

1. Grain Belt Premium
2. Fat Tire
3. Paulaner Hefeweizen
4. Summit Pale Ale
5. Molson Canadian
2 of those are made in my home state of MN, and we just finally got Fat Tire back here about 6 months ago. I used to bring that stuff back from out west every chance I had.

I can't believe people choose to drink budweiser and all the other piss drinks. I only resort to them when I don't have enough money and they're a £1 a bottle in a pub.
1) Newcastle Brown Ale
2) Hoegaarden
3) Spitfire!
4) Whatever guest ale is on at the pub
5) Becks Vier as a last resort.
Edit: I also hope all you newcastle brown drinkers drink it properly with a half pint glass, not just chug it like animals from the bottle

I would add Spaten Doppelbock to my list if we had top 10. The first time I tried the Paulaner Hefe I was in love with it. I've turned a few other people onto it. It's hard convincing people to stray away from Bud or Miller.

90% of the beers in this thread suck.
1) Ninkasi Total Domination IPA
2) Pyramid Thunderhead IPA
3) Deschutes Red Chair NWPA
4) Hale's Ale's Supergoose IPA
5) Elysian's The Men's Room Original Red
6) Pike's Kilt Lifter Scotch Ale
7) Oskar Blues Old Chub Scottish Ale
8) Widmer's Broken Halo IPA
9) I'm going to stop now because I literally could keep going for another 30 or so regional beers that romp & stomp everything I've ever tried before moving out here.
Sorry, but everything brewed east of Colorado just fucking sucks balls compared to most of the beers brewed in the Northwest. If you haven't experienced, you cannot know what you're missing, and I'll be honest, you're all missing out on a whole other class of beers. And yes, this extends to that brownish glop you Englishers produce. I've had Guinness (& Extra Stout), Bass, Newcastle, Speckled Hen, etc. It's all the same shit and it's all fucking tasteless. Sorry.
Oh, except for
1. Henry Weinhard's Private Reserve (Northwest's original, bitches)
Henry Weinhard's anything is fucking rat piss. I've tried their Private Reserve, their Blue Boar, and their Lager. It's all fucking rat piss. In hopes that perhaps their new IPA that just came out was not rat piss, I picked up a six pack earlier this evening. I just opened one, and it not only tastes nothing like an IPA, it in fact tastes like rancid PBR. Which tastes like regurgitated rat piss. I are disappoint. I hate pouring beer down the sink.

What are your guy's takes on whiskey on the rocks? There are so many schools of thought. Neat. Rocks. Drop an ice cube and allow it to disolve. Splash some water to open up the "bouquet."
Personally, I'm in the single dissolved ice cube camp but I'd like to hear point/counterpoints on this.

Personally, I'm in the single dissolved ice cube camp but I'd like to hear point/counterpoints on this. Standard fare like Jack or Johnny Black I take on the rocks. Slightly nicer stuff like Bulleit or Knob Creek I take with some water (more for Knob, that shit is really harsh). Something nice like Yamazaki or Blue Label I'll take neat, but really I think some water enhances it.
