Interesting, I'll check it out when it comes out, but I doubt I'll start playing it again seriously though

I fully support this statement.

That said, as an update, this is a sad one. Tripwire's updates contain at least 3 times as much and they have to work with the Unreal Engine...

Melee hits I'll check. They may benefit from some tech we did for TF2.

That's why an engineer in TF2 can whack you (off) with his wrench from 10 feet away. Something to look forward to in DoD:S! YAY!

That's exactly how DOD1.3 was. I remember how you had to really get a feel for just how far you could hit people with the knife or spade.

dod:s is played lek ghey. so many things to fix with the classes and weapons and the this and that.

at least melee in dod isn't like COD4 for xbox360. in that, you can stab and kill people without even looking at them, and at far away too. total bull shit, if you know someone is behind you, you can just "stab" and the person behind you will die.

god yes, they blatantly didn't remove the console autoaim portion of code for melee. fucking ridiculous. CoD4 is getting on my tits already and I've been playing for <2 months

This update would have saved the game if it was released say....a year or more ago.

What happened to Valve anyway?

They used to be renowned for their second-to-none support of communities friendly to their games and engines. Now they kill off entire communities under the banner of mending "fractured" communities (I'm not just talking about ours either, the CS official site board was fucking colossal), run their own board where criticism appears to be taboo, run a support system via "tickets" and 'we'll get back to you', and rarely ever update their games. What gives, who the hell is in charge over there?

I've become so disinterested in DOD this news isn't a tad bit exciting unfortunately.

So much neglect on Valves part.

They do update TF2 alot and have been working on HL2 episodes. I do see what you are saying though. The change from HL1 to HL2 seemed to kill mods. They made things counter-productive to add custom content. I guess whatever works easier for them.
