I know there is a TMH group for the official TMH, but since there are a lot of members here who aren't there, and a lot of extra people there who aren't really 'old guard' like us, do we want to start another Steam group and be elitest with our monocles or should we just clog their group with our filthy kind?

Their group, btw: http://steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791429521527

So let me get this straight...the same people who consolidated the DoD board into the PoS steam one makes a half-ass attempt into starting a new Mess Hall, and you want us to all consolidate into that crap forum, with many of us who were banned by the same guys running the show?

Umm.. :ninja:

I mean, I'm in that TMH. If you all don't want to join it for some reason, cool. I mean, post the new info I'll join that one too.

Everyone fucking loves me.

I joined... I suck at using Steam. Is there an easy way to add members to your friends list from the group list? Or do I have to add them manually?

Isn't that the group created on the 'old' dod boards? I say stick to it.

I would rather start a new one. Just message anyone on that list that you want to join this forum. Why would we be in that group when the losers that ruined the old forums are running the Steam group? Especially since we have this forum here now.

Call it The REAL Mess Hall or some shit. Bunkers, RN4EVA or something.

Why make an already small player base smaller? Getting a good CS, TF2, or DOD game is hard enough as it is. Whether you agree with or "like" certain people or not, at least most people involved in this group are good, clean, and challenging teammates and opponents.

I mean, if your Lieb, and you're still angry at Shane for banning you for posting jailbait and making generally creepy threads on the old boards like 3 years ago, what better way to vent than to nail his ass with a kar?

And besides, what power does a Steam Community group have as far as "running" the group. It's a database.

Join it, and add the people you like to your friend's list.

But if you guys do start a new group, call it "Exclusive old timey circle jerk."

Course, I'm a bit bias considering Shane, Craptastic, and Janobi have all been, in my experience, class people, and I don't like seeing them insulted. I would of thought that Rob, DarkPenfold, and skdr would give it "old school" cred. Maxey's cool, though I don't know who the fuck JohnM is.

I like just about everybody on both boards, whether you just decided to leave or were banned or not, but this dick posturing is wearing thin.

Someone needs to give Verhaden his daily dose of lithium. I never said anything about Shane or any of the mods, nor did I say it was at all about 'OMG we r teh best grup evar!' We're a different TMH community, on a different website, so a different group wouldn't be out of line. We're a lot tighter knit than the official SP board because we've been around longer. No need to get your man-panties in a man-wad.

Did I say you said anything about Shane? Did I say anything about YOU? Did I single anyone out? No. I was speaking about the attitudes of this board in general--ones I perceive more as resentment from some of the old guard than any lofty ideas of pure community development. I'm not the one who needs to un-wad my man panties.

I think the one group is fine. (My opinion.) And I'm voicing it. Deal.

I accept I'm probably in the minority, but somebody had to say it.

Yeah, you did bring up Shane, actually. :)

Besides, I haven't heard anyone voice any sort of elitism about this forum over the other one in this thread, so the attitude was just wholly unnecessary to bring in here.

Your opinion has been noted, dealt with. Nevermind that anyone even said we had a problem with your opinion, I just took issue with how you expressed it.

:orly:

I said that I never said anything about Shane in relation to YOU. That is to say, if I'm not being clear enough, I never suggested that Cheeto had a problem with Shane, et al.

Clearly missing Azevedo and Faceman's posts? My post is most clearly in response to Face's, and that's largely because I have a lot of respect for him, though I don't agree that the old boards were "ruined." As the face of an aspect of Valve, things had to be strict on an official forum.

The feelings are implied throughout threads on this board, and through conversations I've had w/ others.

Fair enough. I've had a pretty bad day, so excuse any abrasiveness.

Verhaden no one is telling you to leave that group. So stay with them. Like Cheeto said, we're a tighter knit group of people who like to stick together even if we don't get along all the time. Can't really say the same about that other group.
