The examples he gives are real (e.g. the check out stuff) but that's more company policy than state.
Like Jordan said, made me laugh, but don't really agree with it. Most muslims in this country are pretty sound (I live in a muslim city), but of course you get the occassional nut jobs. Lumping them all together is like saying the KKK is a spokesman for Christianity.

The guy's funny, but I think he blurs the line too much between Islam and fundamentalist Islam.
Part of the problem, though, is that advocacy groups do the same thing.
Take, for example, CAIR's reaction to Cavalry Arms' "discreet rifle bag" commercial on YouTube, "Jihad Strikes!". It was a tongue-in-cheek, campy spoof of 1950's educational/PSA reels, with the "Leave it to Beaver" theme playing in the background, for crying out loud. They took pains to specify "Islamic extremists" in the video. But that wasn't good enough for CAIR, whose Arizona representative was quick to denounce it as "demeaning" and "deplorable."

Hell, even Islamic countries do that. Saudia Arabia goes on about how they deplore radical Islam, yet they arrested and wanted to execute a British school teacher because she allowed her students to name a teddy bear 'Mohammed'. Or the 15 year old rape victim they were going to give lashes to for being sexually suggestive to her uncle (the attacker) and her cousin (the OTHER attacker).
I can't say 'fuck you' hard to enough to the Saudi government.

Ah yeah, you're right. However the bit with the 15 year old in Saudi Arabia is still accurate. She was eventually spare the lashings by a pardon from the king, but he even said "You were wrong and deserve to be punished, but I'm only sparing you because of the trouble this case has caused."
I still hate that bastard.

I've always wanted one of those Mecca Alarm clocks like that had on Only Fools & Horses. May have to wander up Brick Lane and get one.
Dont worry, Britains pretty inclusive to all peoples, but we arnt going to go and get al Muslimified too soon.

Freedom of Speech should trump religous fundis. A bad reaction just shows how crazy they already are.

Eh. It uses a very real threat (radical Islamist terrorists) in a tongue in cheek way to promote their security product. If someone is "provoked" by the idea of killing terrorists, they are probably a terrorist scumbag and not worth talking to.
Is there any NEED for this kind of stuff?
It's a bill of rights, not a bill of needs.
Doesn't it only make things worse?
Not really. Generally the people who are offended by these things don't seek them out, unless they're Professionally Offended (CAIR in the case of Islam, Al Sharpton in the case of race, etc).

And you do realise you're dealing with people who do not necessarily believe in freedom of speech? You may be free, but it's no reason to go rub it in their faces. I can assure you that this will offence more than muslim fundamentalists.

That doesn't make sense. It'd be rubbing it in their faces to say "HAHA YOU STUPID TOWELHEADS CAN'T SAY WHATEVER YOU WANT OR SOMEONE WILL CUT YOUR HEADS OFF LOLOLOL"

Ack, just re-read my post. My fault, I wasn't making sense there. What I mean is that sure, you're free, but it's no excuse to be provocative -- the add isn't funny and even if it was it wouldn't change much. Now, I'm not that concerned since muslim extremists aren't too agro at the country I'm currently living in so I really shouldn't care -- just don't be suprised when you lose another couple of towers. Having freedom of speech is no reason not to be sensible.

Thats not the point he's making. Freedom of speech does come with responsibility. Just because I have freedon of speech, dont mean I can go about saying "your a cunt, your familys a bunch of cunts, your mates are all cunts, what you do is cuntish & you come from a place full of cunts". Sure its my freedom to do so - but I'm sure to hell you'll be pretty pissed off if I did. You'd probably want some sort of rvenge and rightfully so. Rights are only right if they dont take away someone elses rights. In this case, someones right not to be persecuted.
P.s - I dont think your a cunt.

Actually, it is. Not saying something for fear of retaliation is a pretty serious "please don't hurt me, I wasn't using my freedom anyway" kinda thing.
I'm not going to worry about the feeeeeeeeelings of murderous scumbags. Freedom of speech means that I get to call murderous scumbags murderous scumbags. If they have a problem with that, tough.

Finaly got to watch this on a pc with sound. I would'nt say that this is at all provocative. Its just a silly bit of larking about. Its not terribly well done tbh, and hardly as offensive as alot of the stuff out here in the public domain.
