At least I do.
Anyway, why is Counter-Strike still so damn much popular? How come a game so stagnated is still the most played?

Its an ok game. I think the respawning enemy concept is getting a bit stale for me. I played the multiplayer a shitload, but i eventually stopped when my friends stopped. I dont like the mass amounts of nade spam in the game.
Also CS is popular because its not resource intensive, easy to learn, but hard to master and it was THE mod for a while.

Looove it, though no time these days. I'll probably play lots during the summer with more free time and new PC =D.

CS is pretty good. Too many shitty mods for it, though.
I picked the lulz option in the poll. CoD4 is ok. R6 is better.

i liked cod4 but a lot of stuff irritated me in that game, as was said, the endless enemies, the mediocre gun sounds, and how much damage they take sometimes.

I fucking love this game, specialy as PCZONE UK gave me my copy for free.
Its got a few faults, like the copters kills adding to yours, and the endless spawning in singple-player making the hardest difficulty frustrating as hell at times - oh and that it dont filter servers by country.
Its in desperate need of new maps. Tho they've released the map developers kit, you hardly see any home-made maps online & as the XBOX crowd have been forced to pay for the official new maps, without any indication that those maps will see light of day on the PC, i'm unsure that I'll still be playing this game by the end of the year.
Infinity ward need to get their finger out and make some new maps, some new weapons and some new perks.
I still love this game tho.

l really don't see what makes CoD4 the end all-be all modern day arcade shooter. The game is fun to play, but it's still essentially a pick up and play game like 1 and 2.

Cod4 MP on the 360's still where it's at as far as I'm concerned. Bunch of us usually party up a couple times a week and get pwnz0red.
Not got into first prestige yet, but I'm only a couple levels away. Had a mad-fun game of Overgrown last night where the idiots on the enemy team kept trying to advance up through the village and got mown down by me on the MMG; when the dumbasses finally tried to flank via the wooden bridge, our snipers took 'em out. I passed about 4 Elite-level challenges in the space of 5 minutes thanks to that little stint.

CoD4 is a shit ton of fun, but it still suffers from that stupid ass circle jerk system of spawning in multiplay. Why in the hell couldn't they do it like any normal game and let you spawn in known places so you have some idea as to where you are immediately? I find that to be the biggest turnoff for me, and the maps need some changing up too.
Oh well, for now, it's plenty good to keep me enjoying video gaming, and the first person isn't too bad either...though I wish I could make it play like a Hardcore server in the singleplay.

The circle-spawn stuff is to prevent one team from being able to spawncamp through an entire round. (Wetwork is the map that shows why it's absolutely necessary.)

Oh I understand exactly why it's there, yet every other FPS out there that has standard spawn points only suffers from that occassionally. It's not a game-breaking feature to be spawn camped a little bit, and frankly gets to be annoying by having no idea where I'm going to spawn.

I played the 360 version. No matter how shit hot you think you are, do not max out difficulty with that control interface. >:(

I prefer the 360 version - no script-kiddies, a much better matchmaking system (despite the occasional lag issues), and a guarantee that no matter how hard a time the controls are giving you, everyone else has to deal with 'em too.
The PC version is easier to control, but the server browser is annoying (unless the admins have named the servers properly, you can't tell if you're connecting to a Hardcore match or not), there's real issues with cheaters, and most of the maps seem overcrowded with more than 8 players to a side.

Hardcore mode is great and they really have to add a filter for it in the server browser, I get all confused and frustrated any time I join a standard server because come on who needs a HUD?
Has anyone played any decent custom maps? I kind of got bored of everything except Ambush and Backlot.

I did like it. It's become kind of stale recently. Has the map pack been released for PS3 EU yet?

Not 'til May, 360 has a 21-day exclusive on the new maps.
Don't get excited; they're not all that great. Broadcast is a slightly reworked TV station from the SP game and you'll get shot in the back a lot.
Chinatown is a reskinned Carentan from CoD1 and CoD2, with no revisions to layout - and it's painfully obvious that the map was designed for free-for-all DMs.
Creek is OK but a good sniper can dominate the entire map - and there's real issues with roofing that, if a player exploits them fully, can result in them working up a 20:1 K-D ratio in the space of a minute or two.

its hella fun.... its even better if you rebind your fire button to melee, and your aim down the sights button to throw special grenade.
got up to rank 12 only gettin knife kills, (ok ok... 2 pistol kills) and im runnin at about a 1-1 k:d ratio.

I'm addicted to this game. I probably play 1-2 hours a day at least, probably more. I stopped at the second prestige, now I'm trying to complete all the challenges (much, much easier during the daytime since it's a bunch of n00bz running about).
I like how using different guns gives a lot of different experiences. I've recently become addicted to using the shotguns, hard as balls at first, but now I can go with a 15+ K: D ratio in a game. Coupled with extreme conditioning and triple stuns, I can get 2-3 kills per life. Popping people in the back of the head is a reason to play in and of itself.
Next I'm gonna try for the snipers, I still suck at using them.

CoD4 online is ok. Too easy to get an airstrike though. Should be 7 kills in a row for one and 10 for a chopper.
And i dont think you should get a hit detector crosshair when shooting people through walls.
Game would be way better with those changes.

Well the air strike used to be hard to get when you first played, now its like a every time I join a game I get airstrike.

Uhh when bullets can go through ballistics shields meant to stop rocket blasts from hitting people, I think theres a problem.

Blast shields =/= ballistic shields. Criminy, we went over this way back when with the frigging Panzershrek on the DoD boards.

I dont know if you've seen the 'blast shields' on that map, but they are atleast a foot and a half thick of metal and tilted on an angle.
I cant imagine too many bullets really getting through something like this. Especially with it at an angle and curved at most direction you look at it.

Can't say that I've ever been able to hit anyone through those big fuckers. However, the PC version needs a goddamned map pack. And a better server browser. Are there any third party browsers that will give me the info I want, like Hardcore mode, the gameplay mode (s&d/tdm/hq), friendly fire, etc?

Thus the importance of knowing WTF you're talking about is shown.
Blast doors =/= blast shields.

I've not been shot through those metal hatch doors (over them, certainly - hence the importance of the Killcam), but the wheeled concrete shields visible to the left and right of the picture above are definitely not effective at stopping assault and LMG fire.
