Wheres the "I cant vote because im a felon" option?
Im probably not going to vote. All three candidates suck and Ron Paul creeps me out. I wish there was a "none of the above" option on the ballots like Jesse Ventura keeps bitching about on tv. Im registered to vote but all three of them annoy me too much.
It should be settled in the dome... the Thunderdome!

People who vote for Ron Paul need to eat a bowl of dicks and a gun, in that order.

Im probably not going to vote. well if you don't vote you can't complain and say "well i voted for x" if the other person gets elected and screws up. i agree all these candidates suck but at least vote for someone who you think will do a good job.

No thats bullshit. Im sick of that lame ass opinion of "if you don't vote you cant complain"
Since when do we HAVE to vote even when we think all of the candidates are garbage?
If they had a "none of the above" or "no confidence" option on the ballot then I would vote. Why should I vote for someone to be president when I don't think they will do a good job? Im not going to vote just for the sake of voting. That doesnt take away my right to complain about the shitty job that they do.

Because it's not a boycott, you tools. Dumbfucks get elected when you don't vote for someone else. If I hear one more pussy whining about how "THEY'RE ALL THE SAAAAAAAAAME" I'm going to beat them to death with a tire iron.

Honestly, if I only had two choices and it was always a "lesser of two evils" every time, I wouldn't vote either.

It doesn't matter WHO is running or how many candidates there are, they are ALWAYS the lesser of x evils because nobody trying to appeal to thousands, let alone millions of people is going to form a platform that matches up 100% with yours. Additionally, since we insist on being infotained, it almost invariably means that they will need to resort to some practice we don't really approve of to get the money to compete.
I swear, half the people who bitch about the presidential candidates and how they'll never vote because it's meaningless have probably never participated in a local or midterm election either. Hell, I doubt they even know what a "midterm" is. Fuck them all.

Yep, just keep re-electing the same dipshits to Congress and then wonder why you get shitty presidential candidates, geniuses.

You're missing my point completely.
Rob got it.
Why should I vote for either candidate if I don't think either one will do a good job? Why should I have to pick "the best of the worst"
Maybe it was that lame ass "vote or die" thing a few years back but since when do HAVE to vote NO MATTER WHAT!?!
I think they all suck and im not going to vote for any of them.
If there was a candidate running that I thought would do a good job I would get my ass down there and vote. Im currently registered to vote and I have my card and location where I need to go. I would vote if I thought any of these candidates were any good.

McCain - I like the guy but his politics seem a bit too similar to Dubya. The number 1 issue for me is the economy with the war in Iraq a VERY close second. I think he would be very similar to Bush in terms of putting much more focus on foreign affairs and not enough on our own.
Hilary - Do I really need to say anything? She comes off as bat shit crazy 9/10. She would eat her child just to win.
Obama - I like this guy also but his experience is a bit too sketchy for me to vote him into the white house. I don't buy into the "hope and change" that hes been selling the past few months. Ill give him credit though, hes probably the best public speaker ive seen in my lifetime.
I like a lot of the things the democrats want to do but it really ticks me off when they say "when im in office I will pull out the troops immediately.." A whole lot can happen from now until they get into office. What happens if the military starts making really good ground over there and then Obama gets into office? Would he keep them there as long as things keep progressing or would he do what he campaigned on months before and pull them all out?
If there was a candidate that I thought would do a good job fixing our economy, fixing our reputation in the world and handle the war in Iraq and Afghanistan responsibly I would vote for them for sure. I don't think any of these 3 can do those things.
If I absolutely HAD to vote I would probably go with McCain.

Nope, see followup.

Because you need to look at the big picture. Beyond hotbutton issues that in all reality probably don't effect you that much, or will not have long term effects.
Consider, for example, the power of presidents to appoint Supreme Court judges, which, by the way, serve life terms. It's better to have someone whose beliefs kinda line up with yours rather than completely go against them.
Maybe it was that lame ass "vote or die" thing a few years back but since when do HAVE to vote NO MATTER WHAT!?!
"Madame President." 'Nuff said.
I think they all suck and im not going to vote for any of them.
Then you've pretty much rendered yourself null and void in the political process. Tell me, where were you during the primaries? Did you back a candidate? Have you ever voted in other elections?
Because, you know, when you tell a party they're doing a good job by voting for them (or not voting AGAINST them) you kinda get what you ask for.

Never voted. I just got registered to vote for the first time a few weeks back. I had to go down to the DMV to get a new ID and got signed up.
Im only 23 so I believe the only election I could have voted in was the last one.

Therein lies the problem. Many elections have come and gone since you were 18, but you're only concerned with the presidential ones.
The problem is that by the time presidential candidates are competing, it's already too late. For one thing, the powerful people in their party will be other elected officials. Senators, governors, etc. The people you really don't care about (and it's not just you, the vast majority of Americans probably could not care less who was in their state offices right now) are the ones who get it into their heads to run for president, and they gather the backing of other elected officials.
So, if you elect (or allow to be elected) total shitheads during midterm elections, you shouldn't be surprised when next election you have nothing but cesspool of presidential candidates to choose from.

Your other argument is a non sequitr jump off of this. If people keep voting for the lesser evil (as opposed to no one), they end up voting for people who they completely hate in the long run. Vote for who you like. People choosing not to vote is an indication of a failure of the politicians to tap into a voting resource; it is not as if this voting populace is magically cut-off from voting when an agreeable candidate comes along.
You then could argue that politicians really don't care as long as they are in office, which in turn leads back to voter apathy. The point is to vote for who you want to be in office and NOT have it be based on a popularity contest or often put as 'voting for the lesser evil'. Vote for the fucking right person!

It'd be VERY interesting (but unlikely) if the Democratic party split apart... 4 candidates running for president?...

Things might get interesting given how many more EC votes are up for grabs, but I'd love a four-candidate election.
