how big of a tool bag do you have to be to think that as a celebrity, your "endorsement" counts for jack shit. just because oprah likes barack obama, i'm supposed to run to his camp? or just because....someone...somewhere...likes Hillary Clinton am I supposed to go rush to her side? If celebs speak up on social issues they're smacked down for thinking anyone gives a shit what they think. If they remain quiet, they're reviled for not using their position as a figure people listen to in order to spread the word about an important issue.

What makes the contributor even less important is that there are limits to how much a celebrity can directly endorse a candidate. It doesn't how matter how rich and famous you are, ever since campaign conventions (i think mcgovern) in the 1970's-1980's they put a cap on donations. There are ways around this block (527 committees i believe). SoG is right though. Who really gives a shit what celebrity likes you. They still only get one freaking vote.
