Can you put illegal music on it?

I ask this, because I just bought and installed a new stereo in my car. It has the aux and usb input, and is specially designed to be compatable with an ipod(the head unit can control the ipod, using it as a big ass cd). Since my current mp3 player is fucked up a little, I'm thinking about purchasing a new one. My main selling point, is ease of use and if you can put illegal music on it.

Thankyou.

yes

just a note though, most ipod interfaces on headunits suck. too clumsy and frustrating. skipping songs, hard to find certain songs, etc.

I'm waiting for a true ipod interface.

I don't know why someone cant just make it so you can control the ipod through the ipod while it charges. the aux out does that in a way, but doesn't charge it. lame.

My friend has one, seems to work alright, certainly gets the job done. I myself use the good old tape adapter with my ipod which go sour every year or so but for $15 its not bad.

Yea, I was using an fm broadcaster, but with this, it will charge the mp3 player while it's playing from it.

ohhh, and I went and plugged in my little 6gb sansa thats got a broken screen and doesn't play out of one speaker. worked like a charm.... bitch at the store said only ipod's worked... :@@:@:@:@:LKJ@!OFIJ#O@I#JFOIJFIOSJFLSJDOIfj

w/e i'm sure i'll eventually love the ipod.

that's a standard audio aux input....any sound playing device can work through it...

i connect my ipod touch via the aux input, though I don't have a charging unit for it...

works like a charm and...you can easily convert your illegal mp3s into AACs from within itunes...saving considerable HD real estate....

What kind of question is "Can you put illegal music on it"? How can people not know an answer to that before they ask.

Because apple is super fucking gay. And I don't know what kinda state copyright protection is in.

I thought itunes had some kind of programming to only accept shit the files from cd's or it's online portion. I never paid to much attention to them before but I've always gotten the impression that they are a pain in the dick.

That's why I've had sansa's up until this point. Just drag and drop your shit like it's a fucking thumbdrive.

USB device sticking out of your stereo = nerd tool

ipod connected to your stereo = functional status symbol

Nooo way, most girls don't understand what it even is...you just say, "oh I put the songs off my computer on to it and it plays them."

Dman:
By the way, your iPod won't connect via the USB on that head unit you have bought, you will need to buy the kit to wire it into the back of it.

Why wouldn't it? The sansa does it. The girl at best buy(which may be just a dumb blonde) told me about the wiring for the back of some of the systems.

If it doesn't, watch the news for jacksonville, nc shooting related stuff.

It will be able to read the files as if it was a USB drive but it wouldn't provide the full functionality of an iPod controller. Plus, they highly recommend that you don't run powered USB devices off it, and as that has a screen as well I wouldn't recommend it at all....thats if it even works!
