Random webpages seem to make firefox crash, one webpage will be fine but if you go to say the main page of this one atv forum I visit it crashes.

Im using latest firefox too, nothing is changed and the pc is a fresh format.

I'm having the same problem, and so is a friend of mine. It pretty much always crashes on the same pages if I let it load completely. I'm wondering if there is something being run on the website that is causing an issue?

Its not the website (well besides yahoo mail which they had a write up on mozillas site). What it is in my case was a plug in, I read thier support site and it said to try disabling plugins to see.

Sure enough flash plugin was causing almost all my issues. Disabled it and voila no issues. No idea if I can use flash now, but at least it wont crash.

I dont get it, it crashed on another site I had issues with earlier tho. It had a youtube link on it..

Figured it out, I have AVG installed and it has plugins in firefox. Disabled them no issues for now it seems.

AVG causes so many issues for so many people, if you want a free anti-virus solution use Avast!

AVG was the best, now it's just a crock of shit.

I may have to look into that Capi, AVG isnt causing any other issues for me but we shall see.

Great, so I looked into avast. Gotta register it and then it only works for a year??

Oh really? It used to be free - money-theiving bastards. Seems the only way to get decent AV these days is to pay for it.

Another thing AVG does which is annoying is put extra load on web servers, so people like me are forking out for higher bandwidth bills...there was a big uproar about it.

Just buy nod32 already xD

Its free, you just have to register once a year for a license.

Oh, well if thats the case I will have to try it.

The way the site was worded it seemed it was only good for a year then your SOL.

It was AVG fucking you over? That's strange. Guess I'm gonna look into switching today.

Lately Firefox loads very slowly initially. This is the newer versions.
I wonder if Kaspersky AV has its hooks into it or they've just overloaded
or borked Ff lately...

Yea, AVG newest version with newest Fx.

Honestly firefox has been super slow these last few versions I have run. But I think AVG is bogging down my pc since the last version or so. The pc was pretty fast until I installed AVG too.

Whats the best free, least resource sucking AV proggie? Kaspersky(sp), maybe avast? Im sick of these bloated proggies. They are becoming like norton and macafee.

Kaspersky costs money. Good protection, though.

FWIW I uninstalled AVG, it was EATING memory. Like 25000k or better at all times.. Funny, now the pc is running so much faster.

Gonna try avast..

Which reminds me, firefox still eats memory, is there anyway to limit it? I mean it started at 91k and now its at 100k

FYI to anyone who has fx memory usage issues:

Clear your cache of junk and it has helped greatly.
