I updated BY ACCIDENT (was typing while FF opened and the update box came up) and now I hate how this happens:

Please make it go away. Thank you.
EDIT: Also you can't get rid of "Bookmarks Toolbar" it seems and a couple plug ins don't work. Bah, it's the little things that make or break a program.

You'll get used to it. It indexes sites by frequency of use and you can find any site you have visited before just by typing its name on the address bar.

Doesn't stop it from popping up, but it goes away pretty fast for me (after a second character is typed), using the Linux firefox version 3.0.5.
Also to get rid of the bookmarks toolbar, go to view -> toolbars and uncheck bookmarks toolbar.

Thank you for that but it's still "Smartbarish". Within the comments of that link there is mention of Old Location Bar 1.3. That worked perfectly.

That is, I'm talking about under Bookmarks. You can not delete it in "Organize Bookmarks".
Thanks alot EMBAR for that link.

I do not want this, this is why I have not upgraded before and I would not have made this thread if I could get used to it.

First get the latest build here:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/
- When installed, go to about:config
- Change the value of browser.urlbar.matchBehavior to 3
This will give the closest to Firefox 2's behavior you will get, by matching only the beginning of titles and URL's.

I just don't save history. That way the only thing it ever tries to put in the box are my bookmarks, and I have a mental bookmark for all the good porn sites.
Also, I updated in the same fashion as you. Accidentally and with great great rage.
