Steam always forgets a bunch of my DoD settings so I have to
re-enter them every time I fire it up.
Now they've made the change-nick method so arcane I can't figure it
out. Can't find the area they tell me to use to change my nick.
Anyone know where this is?

Just open the console and type name "your name". If you have spaces in it, you need the quotes.

Also, are you using any "launch options" from the steam menu? I found if I used any, it would reset the config everytime.
