So I just bought a new TV and blu ray player so I can watch blu ray movies. I went to watch the first one last night and the movie played fine, but it seemed to play at a faster rate then normal, kinda like it was being fast forwarded, but vary slowly. The audio played fine and was kept in sync with the video.
I was thinking that maybe it had something to do with the HDMI cable. Not sure though so any help would be great.
Thanks

Sounds like an issue with player more than anything else. A cable wouldn't do that.

It's a normal PlayStation 3

Sounds like a player issue to me too, I don't see how a cable could cause something like that.

Theres a a few updates out for the ps3, also have you checked through the settings in the main ps3 screen?

It was updated to the latest firmware and I played around with the settings, but it still plays it weird.

Try a DVD in it. See if the same thing happens.

I'll throw in: Knowing NOTHING about PS3s, is it possible to set the thing to play everything at the standard tape/TV speed of 30fps as opposed to 24fps (film standard)?
If you're somehow playing at 30 instead of 24, that'll get you the goofy fast forward, but very slightly feel.
If that ain't it, I'm spent.

If that is the case, then it'd be the player.

I tried a DVD in it and it looks and plays fine. I'll check out the FPS thing

I fixed the problem. I was fooling around on the TV settings and turned off 120 Hz motion blur feature or something like that, and its all better now.
Thanks for the help all
