Help my brother build a computer

Can someone help me come up with parts that my brother can buy for his own tower, around $1300? I've ordered parts and built my own last summer, but haven't kept in loop since.

Monitor isn't necessary, we'll come up with something.

You basically have two choices. Granted the 1300 allocation, I think you are pricing yourself into a more high end i7 based system. A cheaper AMD system isn't really an option here.

If he really wants performance, he could always go with a 4870 x2 and double the memory.
