Politicians vote on perticular political or monitary gain. Not whet their own beliefs are. The bacicly lie and follow the pack to get ahead. Then when they get what they want or are in danger of being exposed.

    Out comes the truth.

Someone was brobably ready to blackmail him.
So instead of paying the guy. May as well.... open the closet door.

Indeed, technically this squares up. No question there.

Now this would be fair enough if he were actually not gay. But he misled, I suppose, his own constituency. Now, as far as democracy goes, it doesn't matter a damn as long as the representative does as his constituency asks.

But he has, perhaps, a further responsibility to all citizens in California. If so, what he did was dereliction of duty, to both Californians in general and those who voted for him.

Well whatevs. I'm tired raht nah.

This does also raise a question though of whether the right thing is to vote for what the people want, even when they are wanting something that is wrong, or to vote for what is morally right.

What sucks about morally right is theres so many definitions of what right is.

Yes, this is what I found interesting. The man votes against his impulses because of the views of his constituents, which shows a faith in the principle of democracy that says that the people are in fact capable of governing themselves.

How much of a mind fuck must it be to have a personal life that directly conflicts with the societal values your employers are expecting you to uphold?
