Mumble seems to work as well as Vent for me, so thumbs up.

Mumble kicks Ventrilo's ass. I've used Vent for years and have always been more or less happy with it, but Mumble is clearer, faster and generally, less hassle. So kudos to this thread and TKGB for bringing it to my attention. My only complaint is that I can't find a way to directly control inbound/outbound volume and so I have to attenuate this by mixing what Mumble gives me with game volume. Not optimal, but also not a big deal. However, positional audio makes up for this in games that support it. That, and there's none of this bullshit where you don't hear anything from someone for ten minutes and then you get a blast transmission with everything they said in that time all at once. Mumble wins.
