Default Vid footage of me making an arse of things on my mountain bike

Carron Valley. Kelpies Staircase. I carried too much speed into it, flapped and almost binned it :-

I have trails like that and worse at close hand. One such is about fifty yards from my doorstep. Sometime in the next six months, I should be up to par to brave them, and maybe not even then. Kudos to you! I was looking for your mentioned slip-up and didn't find it. You handled it with aplomb. That trail would have kicked my ass nine ways to Sunday. Neat vid, post more as you can. :)

Ta. I'm a novice, really I am. 48 seconds in where it says "Oopps!!" - Should have went down that drop and cornered to the left but I went straight on and had to panic brake and stop. I'll see if I can post a wee bit more footage shortly. Get up those trails Zao, you'll love it.

Meh if you did a dirtbike-like move and did a foot-down turn you could have made it.

Also where was this camera placed? Just curious. Would have been cooler if we saw more of the view ahead rather than 2 feet from you facing the ground.

But overall, I'm just jealous. Florida doesn't have nice things like that.

Fuck me, I'm nowhere near the level of skill to stick my leg out and do the dirt bike rider thing.

Camera was on top of my skid lid. Next time I'll position it slightly better. You should see the footage previous to this one - All you can see is the tops of the trees and the sky.

Yea, mounting on the head is difficult in a sport where you have to look up and down a lot lol. Great vid. Wish I had trails like that.

Do it once and you won't ever NOT do it. It's like going from riding dirt bikes to an actual motorcycle.

It's fun and makes cheesing turns a lot easier and more XXXTREEMMMMEEEE

The only thing is though m8 is that I use Shimano SPD pedals. I clip in at the top of a downhill run and stay clipped in until the bottom. Unclipping to stick a leg out to corner isn't an issue as it can be done quickly but getting clipped back in again whilst negotiating a fast downhill section is a bit of a pain to say the least.

Camera was fitted as shown below :-

Interesting, I never actually thought about clips for mountain biking.

    How is that?
