    I am ambivalent about the following fact:

    Literally the first thing to enter my head upon hearing this was a looping chorus of "Ding-dong, the Witch is Dead."

    More practically, while it seems almost inconceivable that the devil we knew was better than the devil we don't...when it comes to DPRK, almost nothing can surprise me. Here's hoping for a turn for the better.

    3 options in order from most to least likely:

    The kid and his close allies, perhaps those most loyal to his father, kill the top generals and all of his siblings. He takes power swiftly and the country proceeds on as if nothing ever happened. This potentially has already happened since they actually announced Il's death.

    Civil War or coup d'etat

    North Korea stops being so fucking crazy and enters the 21st century.
