I saw a video crew for Nat Geo that followed a tibetan optometrist who was doing surgery to restore people's sight in North Korea. It was terrifying how blindly obsessed people were with the leadership, whether they meant it or not. After he took their bandages off, the first thing the people did was thank 'dear leader' for restoring their sight, fuck that doctor person. Honestly I expect to see massive insanity, wailing, confusion, terror, and suicides as a result of this.

Their faith in the system is so complete that normal, everyday people won't think anything of you snapping pictures. If there was a problem with it, the authorities would stop you. One photographer at LIFE commented that this actually made it easier to take pictures in NK than in America (like at airports, etc).

So does anyone know what sentiment in North Korea is like now? Mass suicides. Blame the west. New regime better than old regime. Dear leader is kicking the imperialist dog god in the face.
