    Default Water Cooling Fluid.

My PC is at least a year maybe two old and I've never changed the cooling fluid. Anyone recommend a good fluid? (Other than man seed)

you're supposed to change the fluid?

    ....why?

it's in a closed system. it's not like it gets dirtier.

I'm pretty sure that just about anything that isn't distilled water will, over time, have its impurities magnified by the heat the system soaks up, resulting in corrosion. I think this is especially a problem with cooking oil, for sort of the same reasons you need to change engine oil regularly.

    So, like I said, water?

Well from waht I've read, you can use distilled water and a biocide but I don't want to muck with all that so was just wanting an all in one fluid which is probably only distilled water and a biocide at 3 times the cost but so be it. I'm having what I think is heating problems when gaming. After about 20 minutes the screen goes black and I have to hard boot. I have the latest drivers, cleaned out all the dust bunnies, and inspected the fans which all seem to be working properly, so my next thought was cooling system. You replace it because I think the biocide agent in them breaks down over time and the system gets guncked up. That's my next move but was unsure about replacement fluid. Thanks Fenris, I'll check out that site.
