    Default Define frustration

Trying to convince a friend that the boyfriend that damn near broke her leg is probably not a good boyfriend to be with again, and getting back "Oh well he's promised he'll do better, and really I was pushing his buttons, and you know we do have a sort of alternative lifestyle that most people don't understand."

Someone get Oprah, there's a TV movie to be made here.

That one is a lost cause, unfortunately. I can't tell you how many times I've seen shit like that (although less severe, mostly mental beatings) and have been that one they always go to asking for advice. So far, only one has actually taken my advice, but I got friend-zoned by her so hard that my advice is usually biased. Oh well, she still calls me just about every other day, so whatever. I have moved on.

But back on topic, she isn't going to do anything unless he really hurts her bad. Probably has daddy issues too.

Hell I don't even care about screwing her, it's just annoying seeing people so blind to simple logic.

Women are stupid, never ever ever forget that! You can try and help them, but 9x out of 10x they wont listen.

As for my definition of frustration: Changing a door handle on a work van in 20F weather and having to take APART EVERYTHING cause of the incredibly stupid design. Thank you general motors!

I recommend you see if there is a domestic violence non profit near you, give them a call and tell them your a friend of a victim, explain the situation, and see what they recommend. You could save your friends life.

I agree. Either that or you make the boyfriend "dissappear".

Unfortunately, there's some women out there that are wired to love abuse. They'll make every excuse in the world for why their S.O. is an abusive piece of shit, but in the end, it's their choice to stay with them and they make it because they like it.

Hopefully she wises up before he does real harm, but statistically, it's pretty likely that he'll end up going too far and put her in the hospital some day. All you can do is be around to provide emotional support, be a good witness, and do the hard thing and press charges if you see him assault her, even if it means she puts you on her shit-list. People like that usually need a wake-up call. A night or two in the county lockup is a good one.

Ugh, one of my friends is exactly of this type, albeit in a different context - a really shitty abusive and perpetually pick-on-you boss at her current job, which is the source of 90% of her misery right now. A few friends and I have been fruitlessly trying to convince her to as much as start looking for another job but nope, she wont budge, despite new terrible stories each week :|
