Actually, I was just about to register on calguns Doc after a quick search on google and it came up. Is this a preban AR or did it have to get nerfed because of CA gun laws (permanent mag or tool assisted magazine release)?

I actually have to say, the ingenuity of Californians with regards to their firearms laws is quite amazing. Calguns does, indeed have all the answers you need. And you can bet that whenever it is that I have more money (and God knows when that'll be), I'll be equipping myself suitably.

I don't believe they're transferable, actually. It's okay to have them if you had them before the ban (which was in 2000) you just can't buy/sell them.

I'm not sure of the exact wording, but it's likely that if you put a magazine lock on one it's totally trasferable.
