My theory:

We lack the weird noobs that more popular message boards seem to have plenty of.

Example:
African American Player Models

We need more of those! By possibly having a second purpose for these forums (maybe for some open source projects someone might be doing?) you could quite possibly bring more members to the community which also means more threads and a higher chance we find another gangs.
