so...i think this is a really hot topic, im surprised we don't have a thread for it. personally i think they should be charged with attempted murder. 6 vs 1 could seriously injure or even kill a person. well discuss!

...still not seeing how this is majorly newsworthy though. Bunch of kids ganged up and beat another up, it happens all the time. At least it was 'just' physical, rather than the emotional abuse that usually hallmarks teenage relationships.

My opinion on it is that they are making it a bigger story than it is because of the internet side of it. It lets the media talk about how myspace and youtube affect children and blah blah. They did do a number on the girl though. She is partially blind in one eye and deaf in one ear because of this.

Well, no disagreement that that certainly sucks for the victim. I still stand by that this isn't any majorly newsworthy event, and you're probably right that certain media sources are blowing it out of proportion to take advantage of the internet factor.
