How do I get rid of all those other versions? So annoying.

sudo pico /etc/grub/boot.menu or something like that.

Delete all the versions you don't need (i.e. all but the failsafe and the oldest options).

If you're confident enough, you can delete the old kernels and boot images but they take up very little room and will fuck you up if you delete the wrong one, so leave em for now.

EDIT: Also, don't feel compelled to upgrade each time the update manager tells you to. The none versioned updates to the kernels are pretty damn inconsequential. Basically if the only thing on the kernel revision changing is the number after the hyphen, I pretty much ignore it unless I'm far behind and feel like it.

    it's gksu gedit /etc/boot/grub/menu.lst

Just take out the versions of the kernel you don't need.
