Recommend me a new Anti-Virus software

Avast! is being a bitch lately. Locking up apps when I try to open them and just slowing down my system sometimes.

I've been using Avast! for years now and I have no idea which is the best AV software out there currently.

I don't care if I have to pay for it, just recommend an AV software that is reliable, efficient and that I can just install and forget.

Just to show you how fucked up it was, I was forced to boot Windows in Safe Mode in order to uninstall Avast. It wouldn't let Add/Uninstall Programs populate the programs list in normal mode.

I'm using avast! since you recommended it to me and don't really have problems with it.

Anyway I heard good things about NOD32 and Kaspersky.

AVG can fuck off.

Norton + McAfee can fuck off, but I don't need to say that really, as everyone knows!

Avast! is alright, it's free so can't complain ;)

I agree, Norton and McAffee suck donkey dick, and AVG isn't all that impressive either. I've had viruses on my PC that all of them missed.

Since then I've been using Trend Micro, and haven't had a problem since. The only thing I dislike is that it's not free.

I can second the recommendation on Kaspersky. I've only heard good things.

nod32 and kaspersky are the best but you have to buy them

avg is free and does an ok enough job. but i've had a few false positives in the past.

NOD32 is great, but its not very gentle when fucking those virusses up, so it can leave huge craters in your system if you use it reclessly.

NOD32 is like killing flies with a Mossberg.
