Networking PC to 360

Could someone walk me through how this is done? None of the instructions anywhere seem to correspond to one another.

On the system itself it gives me a number to use on the Xbox website. On the Xbox website there's no mention of a number, and instructions what do with with WMP11. The Xbox site's instructions tell me that when I tell it to network I can select my 360, which isn't there.

So I can't figure out wtf to do....

I've done this at home. Could you tell me what os you're running? Just the win xp pro or home?

I'm simply using the connection to my xbox to acces movies that I share on my computer, so I don't know if I have the full functionality.

I'm trying to find the name of the program, it came off the official xbox website but can't find it, as soon as I'm home I'll tell you.

I did this a few months ago but.......

1. I was blazing drunk at the time.

2. I am quite amazed it worked considering I had no idea what I was doing and just stumbled through it.


I dont think I used the Windows media connect thingy, I tried to but it refused to play some downloaded movies.

I am pretty sure I just set up Windows folder/file sharing. Made a folder I wanted to share in "My documents" and pointed the 360 at that once the wireless connection was set up and the security settings gubbins was all done properly.

Dropped all the movies in that folder and voila.......streaming blockbusters from main PC to 32" LCD TV in living room.

It took a solid hour of fighting with network connections, TCP/UDP port opening, and finally a full WMP11 reinstall, but the motherfucker works
