Gays can't marry. You can.
You're getting special treatment.
Anecdotal straw man argument. Here, here is a good example of a personal expierance I had with a gay girl in HS:
This is the only rational argument you have made in this whole thread."its cause im gay isnt it" just like a black person uses the "its cause im black" and the asian says "its cause im asian" and the latino says "its cause im latin". As a white person WE GET NO COP OUT PERIOD.
I agree the "its cause im x/y/z" is such a lame ass copout and is severely abused. But at the same time, it's not the fault of equality; it's a problem with people themselves. If they weren't gay / black / latino, they would simply find some other excuse.
I agree we should not cave in to those ridiculous demands and "special treatment." No one deserves it. But legal right to marry amongst gays is not special treatment - it's normal treatment.

My actual thoughts on the issue:
I think we are looking at this whole issue from the wrong perspective. It's not so much about "giving minorities rights." Rather, it's about not taking them away. Compare it to the segregation and Jim Craw laws from a few decades ago, and the civil struggles accompanied. It really wasn't about giving blacks any "special" treatment; it was all about taking away the artificially, and unnecessarily imposed limitations. And the same case is here.
Gays, a minority, is restricted from enjoying the benefits of the majority. And that, I think, is wrong. I think no minority should have their rights curbed or outright removed; everyone should be able to reap the same benefits as others, regardless of their gender, skin color, sexual orientation, etc. In a twisted irony, this is exactly what CJM is saying - no special treatment for anyone. But as long as you're arguing for "no special treatment for minorities," don't forget about the "special treatment for majorities."
Will the minorities bitch and whine about getting more to compensate? You betcha. It's always been like this, it'll always be like that. But just because they're whiny doesn't mean they don't deserve equality (with some exceptions). And that's all I am arguing for - equality. Not special boxed lunches. Not special egg hunt days. Simply having the same right as others. And if they continue bitching after that - tough luck.
You said they will "want more" but so what - we don't have to give them more. We can just give them an equal share and kill two birds with one stone - bring social equality one step further, as well as buy ourselves the right to say "you're as equal as us now. so STFU." Once we do that, THEN we can say, "no special treatment for you"
(I was gonna argue about whether gays are "normal" or not but that's already been stated as not the issue here, so I'm skipping that)
On a final note:
I'm sorry CJM, say what you want but if that is your argument against gay marriage, you are a homophobe.Next thing you know there will be kids with 2 daddies or mommies

So by your logic Blacks shouldn't be allowed to marry other blacks because 'they' (can, though you appear to be being presumptious and painting everybody's behaviour with the same brush and say 'do') use being black as a cop out in other areas.
2 people who want to be in a commited monogomous partnership
are exactly the same as
2 people who want to be in a commited monogomous partnership
I don't see how I can put it any other way.
The only real difference is that they can't procreat, but marriage isn't about that anyway. Do 100% of married couples have children?
The only other diffrences are sexual and the last I checked there weren't any laws governing how/when/what way/if couples have sex.
The only reason you've been abl to give to support gays not having partnership rights is because they are gay. Everything else you have said is irelevant to this issue - a single gay person using their social status as a minority to gain an advantage in employment etc has exactly the same relationship to marriage as a straight black person using their social status as a minority to gain the same advantage: none.
Also if gays can't have partnership rights because extremist proportions try to force agendas and views on people then should we outlaw all marriage all together? This video is a group of heterosexual married people 'whining, bitching' and forcing an agenda. They don't deserve rights either then because what they're doing is exactly the same.
I really can't see any point here other than "because they're gay".
More lulz:
Considering the untold numbers of kids in US & UK schools with no daddies, having two cant be a bad this at all. Having two loving parents (no matter what their sex) who can fully support and raise the kids is surely the most important ?
CJM, throughout this, I've not heard one example, except of some miserable freindless bitch in your school - who was just using her sexuality as a crutch, but not read of one example of gay couples demands for extra special rights or treatment over and above those afforded to marraiges of straight couples.
In the UK these days, an unmarried (hetro) couple are afforded the same rights (mostly) as married couples if it can be shown that they have lived together as a partnership for a considerable time.
Same sex marraige is not legal in the England & Wales (Scotland make their own laws), but even the last judge to reside over the most recent test-case to go to the highest court in the country noted that he expected it to become legal in the future. Instead, (homo) 'marraiges' would for the moment be called civil-partnerships and receive all the rights enjoyed by hetro-marraiges.
