First, no big hats and spurs, those are just what we call "goat ropers". And we get pretty annoyed with them.
And theres actually only 2 hardees in the state, most are in arkansas. Theres apparently several carl jr's all over the state (I just googled it because I actually have never seen either).

NC has a state exclusive fast food stop called Cook-Out. Famous for its Burgers, BBQ, Cajun Seasoned Fries (also available on Burgers), and Milkshakes. The shakes use *Real* ingredients - if you order a Banana Fudge shake, it will have bananas in it...not flavoring, for example.

And they're way more amazing than any of the greasy spoons posted. Also, they serve Cheerwine, which is similarly an NC state exclusive.

there's atleast 2 Five Guys here in the LA area according to their site, looks like a bit of a drive for just burgers but i'll give it a go sometime. but, in-n-out is definitely where it's at Jibba, and that's exactly how i order my double-double. + rep. sometimes i get it with lots of onions though for an added crunch.
